Class Experience

In this semester long flex class students will learn how to make delicious dinners from scratch. Using recipes that are kid friendly and easy to follow. I will teach the students step by step how to mix their ingredients, cook and finish their meals using video and edpuzzle. Edpuzzle allows students the opportunity to view the cooking and creation process and interact by answering questions. We will learn how to make chicken, beef and pork dishes (I can also accommodate recipes for students who do not use meat) as well as soups . Students will be using the Outschool discussion board to share their finished dinner pictures and discussions. Students will be expected to share pictures of their finished dinner projects and give an overall assessment of the flavor and texture of their completed assignment. Students are expected to comment and discuss with each other the pros and cons of the recipe, family likes/dislikes, and suggestions on how either the dinner could be better or how they would change it in the future.
I will use the Outschool platform to share with students the mixing and cooking of our recipes. I teach using a "tell, show, do, feedback" model that is similar to the gradual release models used in school. I post the recipes and videos on Monday of each week, starting on the first day of their class, all recipes are listed below by week.

Bachelor's Degree from Florida Gulf Coast University
Hello & Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in my classes and in me. I have my Bachelor's of Art: Fine Art from Florida Gulf Coast University, go Eagles! After four years of teaching visual arts and three years of teaching online, I am excited for every opportunity to teach young learners and help them grow. My classroom is one that is open and friendly, accepting of everyone regardless of skill level or knowledge, promotes creativity, and inspires learners to continue to learn. I love that "aha" moment when something we are learning clicks and a students eyes light up.

I am open to creating classes to meet the needs of students. Share your excitement and ideas! I love all medium: drawing, painting, sculpting, fiber arts and digital design. I also love cooking from scratch.

I try to tie in the history of the arts as I teach so that it builds a background for what we are learning. If we are learning about Surrealism, we might digitally travel to Spain and learn about the history of Salvador Dali and tour his museum. Then we will create a dream journal and our own artistic creations based on the style of the movement. I want my classes to inspire students of all ages to create.

I have always had a passion for the arts, traveling and gaming. I have been a gamer and have enjoyed tabletop games like GURPS and D&D, as well as online platforms like World of Warcraft and Asheron's Call.

I hope to have the opportunity to meet your learner soon! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
