Class Experience

This ongoing art class is great for elementary school artists, no experience is needed. I teach via "tell, show, do and feedback" which is very similar to the "gradual release" model used in schools. Each month there will be a theme or central focus for the projects that the students create, all tied together using National Standards for Visual Arts. I like offering drawing, painting (acrylic and watercolor), digital, sculptural and fiber arts to help students learn about a variety of topics. Feedback is crucial to the learners experience both in the receiving of praise and criticism from me and their peers; what they did well and how they can improve. Art will be shown in class by each student via a gallery walk where they can show their art (they may even post to our message board).
