In this guided drawing course, students will learn art vocabulary around the iconic art movement "Pop Art". Artists like Roy Lichtenstein brought about this movement that has tons of bright contrasting colors. I teach through: tell, show, do, feedback (a method I learned in my time with Starbucks, a long time ago) I find that students learn in a variety of ways (hearing, seeing and doing). This practice allows every student to learn in their own unique way. I will teach the steps to creating a fun Pop Art piece using ice cream as our inspiration. Feedback is essential to artists ( and learners!), I love doing gallery walks where students can share their artwork and get praise and critiques from their peers (what they did well, what they can improve on etc). Students may use their choice of medium for this lesson: acrylic paints/markers or crayons will be best on a multimedia paper. No previous art experience is needed.
Learning Goals
Students will create a unique piece of art work around the pop art movement.
