This class is good for students on all writing levels who are wanting to foster self-awareness, and emotional well-being. Each class will kick off with a 7-minute free write activity based on 2 optional prompts. The majority of the class will be spent working on expressing emotions through journaling, poetry, and story telling. Students are welcome to share poetry or stories created, but personal journals will not be shared. April 14: Focus: Journal writing for emotional well-being April 21: Focus: Journal writing for clarity and decision making May 5:Focus: Poetry from the heart(Free verse) Focus: Poetry from the heart (Fixed styles) may 12: Memoir/ autobiography May 19: Fiction story telling May 26: Focus: Journal writing for positive perspective - Focus: Acrostic name poetry

Learners will learn different writing techniques to assist with emotional management and resliency.

Students must be able to write sentences on their own.
