Take Charge of Your Emotional and Mental Health for Preteens

Each week I will teach a tool to help stay mentally healthy and I will encourage learners to take charge of their mental health.

1 hour per week. Students will be expected to practice the tools they learn each week.

Class Experience

The preteen phase of life is a new experience of emotions.  Preteens can get overwhelmed with sudden intense emotions and not know how to handle them.  In this class, I will teach how to handle the intense emotions of anger, sadness, and anxiety.  We will also discuss emotions such as jealousy, feeling left out, confusion, guilt, and shame. In each meeting, we will practice accepting emotions, learning from emotions, and managing emotions. Tools that will be taught include: writing out emotions, meditation, HeartMath techniques, using creativity to work through emotions, and more.

**Please note that if your child doesn't make it to a class, there are no refunds.  Your child can watch the recording of the class.  If you want to pause the subscription, please do so by saturday of the week before. Thank you.

Week 1:   The purpose of emotions and emotional responses

Week 2: 11/4 Introduction to meditation

Week 3  11/11 Channeling intense emotions into a creative project, drawing

Week 4   11/18 Writing about your feelings and imagining your happy place

Week 5   11/25 Heart-focused breathing and Heart Lock-in techniques created by HeartMath

Week 6   11/25 Navigating Anger, jealousy, and sadness, 

Week 7    12/3 Navigating anxiety  

Week 8      Physical activity and creating healthy habits

Week 9:     Gratitude practices to increase your happiness and learn how to coach 
yourselves and create emotional balance

Week 10:    10/ 22 Fill your bucket by practicing self-care and self-love, Helping yourself is helping the world around you. 

The class topics will start over after week 10.
