US Grade 4 - 7
Hey everyone! I'm excited to have you in class, and I hope you find some delicious recipes to enjoy over the next few weeks. I will provide you with recipes for each meal you will be making. This course includes 4 main courses, some side dishes, and a dessert for you to cook. Each recipe will list all ingredients and tools you will need. If you need any substitutions (such as avoiding allergens or something you don't like), please let me know and I'll help you out the best I can! The best way to get in touch with me is to send me a message. I aim to respond within 24 hours, although that may be delayed on the weekends occasionally. Each week includes a video (or 2-3) where you can cook along with me. I'll walk you through everything, from gathering and measuring your ingredients, how to use special tools, and what your recipe should be looking like at different stages. Of course, if you have questions I don't answer in the video, feel free to message me and/or send pictures so I can help you out. The time for each recipe will vary, depending on the complexity, but you should plan to spend about 45-60 minutes preparing the recipe, plus any additional cooking time (such as slow cookers and ovens).
Learning Goals
Students will learn to read a recipe and make appropriate substitutions according to preference, materials available, and dietary restrictions.
Students will learn about food and kitchen safety.
