This private 1:1 class is great for Jr Chefs with any level of cooking experience. Since listing this class I’ve helped students make French Macarons(see video), French Crepes(see review), French Steak and Frites, Birthday Cakes, Special Family Dinners etc. One Junior Masterchef in training for Gordon Ramseys famous show, took my classes for practice and to challenge themselves. During our private session, Jr Chefs will be able to explore new recipes that they've always wanted to create. They will also be able to learn new skills and techniques. If you've ever seen a dish in a cookbook or on the cover of a magazine and you've always wanted to make it...maybe you've longed to make over the top cupcakes or donuts you gazed at through the window of your favorite bakery. Is there a family recipe that you would like to recreate on your own but with a little help? Would you like to make a special meal or dessert to present? If you are unsure, but just know that you want to try something new--something different, than this 1:1 session is for you. After booking this experience, we will have a consultation and discuss what you would like to make and start to plan your meal/dessert/dish etc...this time will be figured into the total time for your session if needed. Because of the custom nature of this class, I recommend booking well in advance-- at least 2-3 days ahead of class to have time to plan, prepare and shop for what's needed. If needed, some preparation may need to be done before class or some finishing touches may have to be done after class. If the nature of the recipe that you want to make takes longer then class time, and you would prefer to do all prep and finishing with me.. we can extend our class time. Because of the nature of cooking and baking classes where stoves, ovens, appliances, knives and other tools are used, I ask that all video remain open for me to see for safety and for me to be able to support you. After checking in, your camera can be aimed at your counter or prep area for the remainder of class. Also, being able to openly talk and converse is extremely important and will keep your hands free to chop, dice, knead etc AND there's less risk for germs to come in contact with food from hands that have touched devices. We will work through your chosen recipe together. I will not only serve as your culinary guide, I will also provide you with tips and timesavers that I've learned from my formal cooking experiences in programs such as Le Cordon Bleu, James Beard cooking events, a degree in food and nutrition sciences and years of cooking in the kitchen with my Grandmother and other women in my family. In addition to in person experiences, I've networked and cooked/baked along with a recent MasterChef Winner and another top 5 pick (prepared our Thanksgiving meal together virtually), Queen of Macarons, Food Network Cupcake Wars Winner and judge for Sugar Rush, and a celebrity private chef from LA amongst others. My meals have been featured by Sur La Table, Ruffino, Kittch and more. I LOVE sharing tips I've learned during our experience. I can't wait for you to enroll so that we can brainstorm. Even more so--I can't wait to meet you in the kitchen. Don’t worry about having previous cooking experience. Bring your open mind and willingness to learn. If there is a date and time that you don't see listed, please send a message or request. Pictured: My Pasta Con Vongole —yum!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I’m Mrs. Lisa, a professional culinary educator with nearly 30 years of experience teaching cooking, baking, and nutrition to learners of all ages, from toddlers to seniors. My love for food began as a child baking Southern classics with my grandmother, and I’ve since pursued formal training at Immaculata University (B.S. in Food and Nutrition Science, minor in Child Development) and Le Cordon Bleu Boston, as well as numerous culinary workshops.
As an instructor, I combine my expertise with a passion for making learning fun and interactive. I believe food brings people together, and my goal is to empower kids with kitchen confidence while teaching the science, culture, and joy of cooking. In this class, I’ll help your child create a delicious recipe and learn valuable life skills.
When I’m not teaching, I love traveling, hosting dinner parties, and sharing food experiences with my family. I’m so excited to welcome your child to my kitchen classroom—let’s bake something amazing together!
