40 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Discover 7 basic areas of self-care (food, rest, exercise, hydration, stress management, social connections & hygiene). Find out why each of these are important & be introduced to the options that exist for maintaining health & wellbeing. Based on multiple research studies, students will explore why there is not a one-size fits all approach to being healthy. They will be encouraged to keep a journal/track their health to empower themselves to make better, personalized health choices, while communicating their needs with their families & medical professionals. These classes provide educational material only, not meant to diagnosis or treat any illness. Classes are taught with simple terms in a slide-show format and non-graphic, child friendly illustrations. Note: This class covers concepts at a basic level. Students, who want to explore the topics more are encouraged to take the multi-day classes Health and Wellness Skills classes I offer on Outschool. I am a Certified Health Coach and love to teach people skills that enable them to make informed choices about what is best for their bodies. The skills taught are researched based and not specific to any diet or wellness protocol, plan nor fade. They do not promote any particular supplements or health programs. I have been a health educator on Outschool teaching Middle & High School level classes for the past two years.
