In this General Health course, students will gain knowledge and skills about the body systems, nutrition, exercise, and cool down, promoting a balanced approach to their overall well-being. Please note that this class will not provide personalized nutrition or workout plans, portion control guidance, or any specific recommendations related to individual health. During the course, students will have activities to enhance their understanding of these concepts: Muscular & Skeletal System and how it all works together. Nutritional Wellness: We'll provide general guidelines to introduce your learner to nutrition, healthy eating habits, and the basics of macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, and proteins). Students will gain knowledge about the roles of these nutrients in the body's functions. No personalized nutritional recommendations or advice will be given. Movement: Dive into the science behind muscle growth, strengthening, and muscle hypertrophy. We'll explore various exercises and stretches tailored to different muscle groups, equipping students with the knowledge to create effective workout routines and improve flexibility and strength. Cool Down Techniques: Recognize the vital importance of physical cool down for overall health and fitness. We'll discuss various cooldown methods, along with the significance of sleep, balanced eating, massage therapy, and stretching routines. Students will learn how these practices can help prevent injuries and enhance overall well-being. Sample Schedule: Week of February 4th: Nutrition Basics Week of February 11: Information on Muscle Growth and Strengthening Week of February 18: Information on Exercises for Different Muscle Groups Week of February 25: General Information on Flexibility, Stretching, and Injury Prevention
