Welcome to our Montessori Preschool Curriculum online class, a creative and exploratory program designed for young learners. Meeting twice a week, this class offers a balanced approach to early education by focusing on both art and science, nurturing your child's imagination and curiosity. ✨We are proud to be the first and only accredited Montessori school on the Outschool platform, featuring certified teachers who bring their expertise from our brick-and-mortar school located in Ontario, Canada.✨ 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗨𝗠 Our weekly schedule is thoughtfully organized to provide a comprehensive educational experience. On Tuesdays, our art sessions cover a wide range of topics, from learning various art techniques and exploring different mediums to studying famous artists and their work. On Thursdays, our science lessons focus on developing observational skills, conducting experiments, and exploring the principles of design and measurement. This balanced approach ensures that each child receives a well-rounded education, encouraging both creative expression and scientific inquiry. 🅜🅞🅝🅓🅐🅨🅢 Art In our art sessions, children are introduced to a variety of techniques and mediums, allowing them to explore their creativity in multiple forms. They will have the opportunity to try different art materials, learn about famous artists and genres, and create their own masterpieces, gaining an appreciation for art history and personal expression. 🅕🅡🅘🅓🅐🅨🅢 Science On Thursdays, we dive into the wonders of science. These sessions are designed to spark curiosity and develop critical thinking skills. Children will engage in hands-on activities that involve observing, sorting, and classifying objects, asking questions, making predictions, and conducting simple experiments. They will also learn to measure and estimate, design and build models, and discover patterns and relationships in the natural world. Through these activities, children will learn to communicate their findings, fostering a deeper understanding of the scientific process. 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 Each session will begin with a brief lecture on the day's topic, providing children with a clear understanding of what they will be exploring. The teacher will then demonstrate the materials or worksheets needed for the activity, showing step-by-step how to complete the task. Following the demonstration, children will have the opportunity to try the activity independently, while the teacher observes and provides real-time feedback. This hands-on approach ensures that children learn through experience while receiving the support they need to succeed. Our teaching style is fun, engaging, and productive. We believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience that stimulates curiosity and a love for discovery. By creating a positive and supportive atmosphere, we aim to keep students motivated and eager to participate. Students will have ample opportunities to interact with the teacher and their peers throughout the class. The small group setting ensures that each child receives personalized attention and has the chance to actively participate in all activities. We incorporate a variety of teaching methods, including interactive games, discussions, slides, and occasional video clips, to make lessons dynamic and relatable.
Learning Goals
The class will include age-appropriate discussions on art history, introducing children to notable artists and movements. This foundation will help them appreciate the diversity of artistic styles and understand the context of their own creative work.
Children will experiment with a variety of art mediums, including watercolor, clay, and collage materials. This exposure will help them discover their preferences and strengths, broadening their artistic experiences and skills.
