What's included

Group experience

In this asynchronous Art group learners will be able to connect with one another. This group will be a collaborative community of young artists. This group will help young learners explore different types of art.

An asynchronous Art group means there are no live meetings. In this group we will explore realistic drawing, semi-realistic drawing, cartoon style drawing, kawaii style drawing, anime, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, oil pastels, chalk pastels, mixed media and so much more! This group is a community of like minded young creatives! This is a fun, no pressure, relaxed group that provides drawing prompts, art challenges, discussions, over forty five full length tutorials and more. This group also includes opportunities to share your art!

Learners will explore the art world in this group and I will help learners find their own artistic voices. The motto in this group is "there are no mistakes in Art", and I want every student in my Art group to feel like a successful artist! This group will help young artists flex their artistic muscles!

Learners will have a safe place to ask questions, share building experiences, and discuss topics related to art.

Learners will participate in at their own pace in a safe space to discuss, question, and support one another. The teacher will post topics in the group and respond to learner’s comments daily. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and provide support to others.

The teacher will moderate, monitor and facilitate the classroom through encouragement, asking questions, and giving feedback on art pieces. The teacher will also provide directions, information, art challenges, and discussion questions. Students will be encouraged to share their art in the group. Students will be able to interact socially with the other learners and make kind, supportive comments about other learners art work as well!

What are the benefits of an Art Group?

1. Beat decision fatigue. Deciding what to make can be tough. Your head might be overflowing with ideas but you don’t know where to start.
2. Create a regular habit. With consistency, you’ll create a habit of creating art. That makes it so much easier to move onto your next project without overthinking things.
3. Learn and grow. If you want to start using a new medium, an art group can be a great introduction. It gives you enough incentive to keep going, and you’ll quickly see your skills improving.
4. The social and community aspect. When you’re creating in your own home, it’s easy to feel isolated. That’s why the social aspect of an art group is so valuable!

The teacher will post Art challenges and/or projects.

Examples of art challenges/projects:

1. Draw your dream home.
2. Make an art piece of your favorite animal.
3. Make a poster about your favorite movie.
4. Create an illustration for your favorite book.
5. Draw your dream vacation.

And so much more!

Outschool embeds the link on its platform so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website. *Acrylic paint does not come off of clothes so you may want to provide a smock or oversized t-shirt for your learner.

We’re all a little guilty of neglecting our sketchbooks more than usual during the warmer months, but ...
Art Group: Draw, Paint, Create! is a community of learners that come together on Outschool to share what they’re learning, ask questions, participate in challenges, and get feedback on their projects
