Calling all readers, bookworms, scholars, and book lovers! This STEM reading club is for children ages 5-6 who love reading, listening, investigating, predicting, and asking questions, along with other young reading enthusiasts.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten
In this online club, each book-lover and enthusiast will:
- Participate in a session with other enthusiasts who are his/her age 5-6 who are passionate about reading, listening, investigating, predicting, and asking questions.
- Enjoy 30 minutes of reading along with a live instructor.
- Expressive Reading with short stories that capture the interests of STEM Enthusiasts.
- Enthusiasts will learn to exercise their Active, Attentive, and Reflection Listening skills.
- Collaborate with small groups; 4 enthusiasts max per session with one adult live instructor.

Our selection of STEM Books include: (depending on the registered participants, one of the books below will be selected to read during class together online)
Syllabus/Topics covered:

Week May 2-8 (Introduction)
- Introduction to the Club

Week May 9-15 (Think Creatively)

- Made by Maxine by Ruth Spiro 

Week May 16-23  (Creating Together)
- Creating Together
- The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spir

Week Mat 24-29 (Maker World)
- Making Together
- Be a Maker by Katey Howes


This 30 minutes meeting is incredibly interactive:
- 5 minutes introduction of today’s book.
- 20 minutes of self-paced reading/response.
- 5 minutes Discussion/Reflection.
Learning Goals
STEM is a growing field in our world that is constantly changing.

In this ongoing class, early readers will experience firsthand how exciting reading can be by exploring books and dissecting stories in a fun and colorful way. 
- Discover how books act as vehicles allowing us to voyage to different worlds and learn about new places. 
- Will also learn more about themselves and their capabilities through diverse storybook features & characters.

Participants will read along, predict what will happen next, answer questions, share points of view, and most of all, have fun!
