Join Jack and Annie on their time-traveling adventure to Ancient Egypt! In this five-week book club, students will explore Mummies in the Morning through interactive read-aloud sessions, engaging discussions, and creative hands-on projects. We’ll practice reading fluency, improve expression, and dive into the mystery of pyramids and mummies with fun, imaginative activities each week. Teachers and students must purchase their own copies of "Mummies in the Morning" by Mary Pope Osborne.

Activities:
Create your own Magic Tree House with paper and markers.
Discuss how Jack and Annie prepare for their adventure.

Lesson 2:
Ancient Egypt Awaits
Chapters 3-4 (Meow! and The Dead Queen’s Tomb)
Activities:
Decode hieroglyphs: Write your name or a secret message using an Ancient Egyptian alphabet.
Discuss Ancient Egypt and what surprises Jack and Annie discovered.
Skills Focus:
Emphasize pacing and fluency during group reading. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
The Puzzle of the Mummy
Chapters 5-6 (The Mummy and Gasp!)
Activities:
Build a mini paper pyramid: Decorate it with “carvings” that tell a story.
