Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Come journey around the world! The fun filled, weeklong camp starts on one side of the globe and stops on every continent before coming to an end. Discuss famous monuments like the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal. Journey down the Nile River and explore the ice-covered mountain ranges of Alaska. Lessons will include discussions, using compass points of north, south, east, and west as well as directional phrases and prepositions to find places on a map. Information will be shared through conversation, slides, and reinforced with puzzles and games. There are also plenty of themed games, puzzles, some language and cultural exploration, with a lot of historically enriching fun. Grab a bag, your adventure awaits!

Minimal supplies need-a travel booklet and "passport" will be send to print.

Each day will follow this schedule on kid time
Welcome and overview 3-5 minutes
Daily focus 30-45 minutes
Puzzles, game, other enrichment 5-10 minutes
Review and prepare for tomorrow 3-5 minutes

Monday: Places campers have visited. Taking off-China, Russia, India, and Middle East, stopping to see the Terracotta Army, Forbidden City, Great Wall, Great Buddha, St. Basil’s Cathedral, Taj Mahal, Ellora Caves, the Golden Temple

Tuesday: Australia, Africa, and Prepositional phrases, reading a map and compass points. We will explore the Sydney Opera House, Uluru, Cable Beach, Victoria Falls, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the Pyramids of Giza

Wednesday: Europe, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Scandanavia stopping at the Eiffel Tower, Bruges, Neuschwanstein Castle, Brandenburg Gate, the Zugspitze, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Windsor Castle, White Cliffs of Dover, Stonehenge, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Ring of Kerry, and Newgrange

Thursday: Greenland, Iceland, Madagascar, Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, and Indonesia we will visit the Hvalsey Church Ruins, Northeast Greenland National Park, Landmannalaugar, Blue Lagoon, Avenue of the Baobabs, Isalo National Park, Masoalo National Park, Ranomafana National Park, Bantay Bell Tower,  Apo Island, Nara, Mount Fuji, Glacier Country,Rotorua, Tongariro National Park, Fiordland, Mount Bromo and Komodo National Park

Friday: Landing time-North, Central, and South America, Language overview. We will visit Machu Picchu, Salar de Uyuni, Easter Island, Galapagos Islands, the Plaza de Armas of Trujillo, Copan,  Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Tikal, Tamul Falls, Sima de las Cotorras, Cañon de la Angostura,Grutas de Cacahuamilpan, Butchart Gardens, Montreal, Churchill, Whistler, Denali National Park, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Disney World, Washington DC, and Niagara Falls

Travel and history is a passion of mine. I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
