Prefixes and suffixes are additional syllables or groups of syllables added to the beginning or ending of words to change their meaning to create a new word. Students will discussion 24 prefixes and 16 suffixes, determine the meaning of words including prefixes or suffixes, and form new words using prefixes and suffixes. 

The lesson will be divided into 3 main sections: discussion 24 prefixes and 16 suffixes, determine the meaning of words including prefixes or suffixes, and form new words using prefixes and suffixes. 

Information will be shared on slides, through discussion, and on a provided worksheet.

Differentiating  between prefixes and suffixes 6-8 minutes
Determining word meaning using prefixes and suffixes 12-16 minutes
