Many colleges encourage interviews between the admissions candidate and the admissions committee or an alumnus as part of the college application process. Some interviews are held over Zoom, some on campus, others perhaps at a local coffee shop. Either way, the interview is an important process when decided between candidates. Students need the skills to be their best advocate, come prepared with topics to discuss and questions to ask which demonstrate interest and higher level thinking. Interviews also provide the institution and student a chance to evaluate fit. In short, the interview provides and opportunity to show off unique personality traits one can can bring to campus, and build a personal relationship with the admissions gatekeepers. Information will be presented with slides and discussion. A student packet with helpful information and practice questions will be posted prior to the class. Welcome: 2-5 minutes Discussion: 30-35 minutes Practice Questions: 10-15 Student Questions for Clarification: 10-15
