Join our Self Paced class on Sports Nutrition for Teens, which is perfect for learners who prefer the flexibility of studying at their own pace without live classes. In this 4-week course, you will have access to an instructor who can answer any questions you may have and provide valuable feedback.

Through presentations designed on Canva, we will cover essential topics such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and their role in sports nutrition. Additionally, we will delve into the ATP system, glycemic index, and their relationship to overall performance.

We understand the importance of good nutrition for teens, as it helps in building strong bodies, enhancing sports performance, and minimizing injury risks. By learning about balanced diets and the significance of hydration, you will gain knowledge on how to maintain energy levels, avoid fatigue and muscle cramping, and stay focused during physical activities.

Moreover, this class will equip you with the skills to make informed food choices and develop healthy eating habits. These principles are vital for reducing the likelihood of chronic illnesses like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

Each week, you will receive a Google Drive link containing worksheets and handouts to supplement your studies.

- Overview of the ATP system (aerobic vs anaerobic)

Nutrient Timings
 - Testing your knowledge on nutrition timings (true/false exercise)
- Benefits of proper nutrient timings
- Understanding the purpose of eating
- Discovering the Garbage Disposal Theory
- Pre-exercise fueling windows of opportunity
- Nutrition during sports/exercise
- Strategies to prevent feeling under-fueled
- Post-workout nutrition

Hydration
 - Emphasizing the importance of staying hydrated
- Video: Determining the color of your urine as an indicator of hydration
- Understanding how the body loses water
- The consequences of dehydration on the body
- Video: The effects of dehydration on athletes

Unveiling Misinformation
 - Debunking common sports nutrition myths
- Exploring erogenic aids: nutritional, mechanical, pharmacological, and psychological aids
- Guidelines for meal planning for athletes on different training days (MyPlate: Easy, Moderate, and Hard)

Dear Parent/Guardian, We are excited to invite your teen to join our Flex Class on Sports Nutrition for Teens. This 4-week course is perfect for learners who prefer the flexibility of studying at their own pace without live classes. However, it is important to note that we do not offer medical nutrition advice. Throughout the course, our goal is to provide valuable information and education on sports nutrition for teens. We will cover various topics such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, hydration, and the ATP system, among others. Our aim is to equip your teen with the knowledge and skills to make informed food choices and develop healthy eating habits. It is important to emphasize that while we provide valuable information, this class should not replace professional medical advice or personalized nutrition plans. Our instructor will be available to answer any questions your teen may have but cannot provide medical nutrition advice. Each week, your teen will receive a Google Drive link containing worksheets and handouts to supplement their studies. The class outline provides a breakdown of the topics covered each week, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of sports nutrition. Thank you for considering our Sports Nutrition class for your teen.
