Students will learn about different types of food and how they impact the body and brain. They'll also learn about self-care behaviors and how they improve health and wellbeing.
I have an M.S. in community health education and a B.S. in health, wellness, and nutrition.  I have spent most of the last decade developing and teaching curricula for youth and family community health programs.   I've had the opportunity to teach many families how to incorporate healthy choices into their lives.
Handouts will be provided for some topics.
This class is based on scientific evidence and discusses the science of nutrition and health-related behaviors. This course is not nutritional or mental health counseling. It is not meant to give dietary, medical, or mental health services.  This course will include general information about nutrition, self-care, and relevant strategies. Reach out to your medical provider for recommendations regarding your child’s personal health.
