What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Come workout with friends and a trainer licensed specifically in youth exercise! (Youth Exercise and Nutrition Specialist (YES Certified), National Academy of Sports Medicine- 2018; bachelor's Elementary Education, University of Central Florida- 2009). You'll be challenged and sweating, no doubt! Workouts will be a mix of circuit training, HIIT, and special challenges. We will play Blooket or BAAM at the end of each class! Class Outline: (aprox.) 5-10 min Check-ins and warm-up! Tell me something good that happened, something you're looking forward to, what you did over the weekend... In all of my exercise classes, getting to know my kiddos is a top priority! Learners are always welcome to share verbally or by using the chat box. 25-30 min Intermediate Workout- please check out my variety of 30-minute physical fitness classes if you are new to exercise, or not sure if this type of training is for you! You can always try one of those and then decide whether or not you need a more challenging class. If you have exercised before or have a definite interest in improving your physical fitness, then this 45-minute workout is perfect for you! There will be shorter/less breaks and the game will be played at the end of class compared to my other classes where we break for extended periods to play a game throughout. 5-10 min Cool down stretch and Blooket or BAAM game! My gym (in-person and virtual of course!) is a safe place to find encouragement and motivation! Having a workout partner or group makes working out fun and we are more likely to stick to our routine! It's important to note that fitness isn't about how you look, it's about how you feel! Being healthy looks and feels different for every person! I will always model and perform a variety of exercises for both our upper and lower body. The exercises and workouts will be fresh and fun each class! All exercises can be modified to ensure each child is feeling successful and strong! Every week will also include a new Blooket or BAAM game for fun and socialization. You can expect your child to receive lots of encouragement and praise throughout our workout. They will leave feeling excited about fitness, and with a new workout routine they can practice at home! Please check out the learning goals section as there are so many benefits besides just improvement in the areas of strength, balance, and agility.
Learning Goals
Learners will learn various stretches and exercises throughout class. I will teach them proper form by modeling both the correct and incorrect ways to perform each exercise. The goal of this class is to help promote a love for physical exercise and health! I seek to do this by providing a comfortable and inviting environment for the kids while we also build camaraderie with one another.
Improvement in the areas of strength, balance, and agility.
They will also be working towards achieving the daily physical activity recommendations of both the CDC and American Heart Association. According to the CDC, it is recommended that children and adolescents ages (6-17 years) should do 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity each day, including daily aerobic – and activities that strengthen bones (like running or jumping) – 3 days each week, and that build muscles (like climbing or doing push-ups) – 3 days each week."
According to the American Heart Association:
Active kids are more likely to have:
-a healthy weight
-stronger, healthier bones and muscles
-better heart and brain health
-improved brain function, including memory, attention and problem-solving
-better school attendance and academic performance, especially in math, reading and writing
-lower long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some kinds of cancer
-less stress and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression
-less inappropriate and distracting classroom behavior
-improved mental health and psychological well-being, including confidence and self-esteem

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is suggested just to make sure your child is staying hydrated and resting when needed. But don't worry! We will take plenty of group water and breathing breaks!
Supply List
-Water (for hydration) -2 additional water bottles (these will be used as our 1lb weights)- if you have small hand weights/dumbbells, you are encouraged to use those, but WEIGHTS ARE NOT REQUIRED. You can pick up an inexpensive pair at Walmart, Amazon, or even a Dollar Store. For learners who are looking for more of a challenge, I would suggest having 3 pairs of weights (light 1-5lbs, medium 3-8lbs, heavy 8-15lbs). This is also not required. -Optional resistance band (these are the small "hip circle" bands that usually come in a pack of 3, light, medium, heavy) -Optional mat or pad as some exercises will be performed on our knees or on the ground. *Please come with or without the supplies listed above, it will still be great exercise and movement for the day!* You can add weights and bands as you feel comfortable or are able to.
