Our fitness and weight training class meets once a week for a focused 45-minute session that combines teaching and active fitness. Each class begins with a quick discussion on a fitness principle followed by a workout that incorporates that day’s lesson. This structure ensures that students not only learn about fitness but also apply their knowledge immediately in a practical, hands-on way. We cover everything from cardiovascular health to strength training, emphasizing safe practices and proper form to prevent injuries. Our teaching style is upbeat and supportive, with instructors who specialize in youth fitness, ensuring that each student feels motivated and engaged. Week 1: "Introduction to Integrated Fitness Training" Learn the fundamentals of an integrated fitness approach that combines cardio, endurance, core, and strength training. Understand the benefits and how these elements work together to improve overall health. Week 2: "Cardio and Endurance Fundamentals" Explore how cardiovascular training boosts heart health and endurance. Engage in activities that improve your stamina and energy levels through fun, dynamic exercises. Week 3: "Core Strength and Stability" Focus on core muscles, learning exercises that enhance stability, balance, and strength. Understand the pivotal role the core plays in all physical activities. Week 4: "Strength Training Basics" Introduce basic strength training concepts using bodyweight and light weights. Learn safe techniques to enhance muscle strength and overall body tone. Week 5: "Combining Cardio with Strength Training" Practice combining cardiovascular exercises with strength training routines in a single session to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Week 6: "Enhancing Core with Cardio Workouts" Integrate core-strengthening exercises into cardio routines to engage multiple muscle groups and enhance fitness levels. Week 7: "Dynamic Workouts: Blending All Elements" Engage in dynamic workouts that blend cardio, core, and strength training elements, focusing on smooth transitions and maintaining form. Week 8: "Workout Routine Development" Use the principles learned to help each student develop their own personalized workout routine that incorporates all key fitness components. Other Details
Parental Guidance
This course involves physical activity and some use of weight training equipment, which will be closely supervised. We ensure all safety measures are in place, but it's important for parents to ensure that their child is dressed appropriately for exercise (e.g., proper footwear and comfortable clothing) and that they bring water to each session. Also, parents should supervise their children during the workout.

Last year, I taught P.E., weightlifting, health, environmental science, biology and physics to middle and high school students.
I am a former Orangetheory Fitness Coach and certified athletic trainer
I am a former college football player who was named to my university's All Decade 1st Team, 3x all conference player, and 3x academic all west region.
I hold my Master's in Secondary Education with an emphasis in fitness, life sciences and health.
I received my B.S. in Athletic Training from Whitworth University. I completed 1,250 clinical hours in physical therapy clinics, collegiate, semi-professional and high school athletic training rooms, emergency rooms and urgent cares.
