US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this 25 minute ongoing class students will review both the upper and lower letters. They will review the letter sounds. Students will learn sight words by sounding out the letters. This lesson will be accomplished through Snowy the Snowman and his mailbox. Students will practice writing the sight words. My goal in each class is to have fun while learning. If the students aren't having fun they will be less likely to retain what was taught. Students need to be familiar with the letters and letter sounds. No prior sight word knowledge is needed. Week 1 -04/21topic- “at” family/ colors words Week 2 - 04/ 28 topic- “am” family/ color words Week 3 - 05/5 topic -“is” family/ color words Week 4 -05/12 topic- “the, and” / color words Week 5 - 05/19 topic-“in, on”/ color words Week 6- 05/26 topic-“ he, she, yes, no”/ color words

Supply List
Students need a pencil for each class. Please have scissors, glue sticks and crayons available as needed. A worksheet will be provided to print at home.parental guidance is needed for scissors.

Hello and welcome to my profile! I have been a teacher with Outschool since 2020. I enjoy teaching students of all ages. Some of my specialties include preparing Pre-K children for Kindergarten both academically as well as socially. I also enjoy teaching ESL to students from all over the world. I enjoy making learning fun. My snowman Snowy engages the students each week with his mail that he sends to the children. Snowy is just one of the unique ways we have fun in class while learning. I truly believe that children need to have fun while learning in order for the concept to really sink in and be understood.
I graduated from UNCW with a Bachelor's Degree in English. After college I started my teaching career as a high school English teacher. I left the profession to raise my four children. I decided to return to my career and have enjoyed teaching many years as a Pre-K teacher.
I am also an online ESL ( English as a Second Language) teacher with VIPKid. I enjoy getting to know my students both in the United States and all over the world!
I love snow! This is something that the kids always seem to really enjoy. I love hearing the children laugh and seeing those precious smiles while we enjoy learning together. My husband and children love to travel. We enjoy camping all over the USA. I also have a black lab named Snowflake and a cat named Chloe. I hope to see your child in class soon!Reviews
