Name That Sight Word - Learn and Practice Sight Words Level 1
In this ongoing class, students will learn and practice sight words. Each week students will be introduced to new sight words, play sight word games, practice writing sight words and complete sight word activities.

Beginner Level
Sight words are words that are memorized to help students learn to read and write. Learning sight words allows students to recognize words at a glance and also makes reading easier and faster. When a child has a firm concept of sight words their reading becomes more fluent which helps students gain reading comprehension knowledge. Each week students will be introduced to new sight words using a variety of teaching strategies. Students will play a sight word game, practice writing sight words and do a fun sight word activity each week. This class is ongoing, feel free to drop in for any class.

For each class students will need: something to write on and write with OR a dry erase board, marker and eraser If additional materials are required, I will post at least 24 hours before class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi my name is Lynn and I am excited to be teaching on Outschool.
I graduated with a bachelor degree in education. I am a certified teacher with an endorsement in Pre-K - 4th grade.
I taught first grade for 18 years and I have taught kindergarten for the last 11 years. I also have over 15 years of experience volunteering with pre-schoolers and young adults. I love teaching and making an impact on children of all ages. I feel so blessed to be able to have a job I love!
I believe that learning should be interactive and fun as well as educational. I also believe that all children learn and develop at their own pace and I believe in meeting children where they are when they come to my class. I will offer a variety of activities in my classes to enhance each students learning experience.
In my free time I enjoy riding my bike, crafting with my cricut, reading, going to the beach and pool, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.
