Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
Each class will begin with a welcome song. We will then review the letter names and letter sounds of the alphabet. It is important that young readers become fluent at "reading" the letter names and sounds. Students will be introduced to common beginning sight words that they will learn through a variety of fun and engaging ways. For example, we will use computer slides, games, flashcards, spelling out loud, and many more techniques to help your young reader get a good grasp on sight words. At the end each session, your child and I will compose a very simple sentences using the sight words that we have learned that day.
We end with class with a goodbye song - your child can bring a stuffed animal or toy to show at the end of class!

Added bonus: At the end of each week I post 3 printable sight word review sheets if you would like extra work for your child!

Here are the weekly sight words:

Week of September 16 - they, can, up
Week of September 23 - egg, here, is
Week of September 30 - away. run, he
Week of October 7 - will, help, me
