In this 3-day camp, we will explore primary and secondary colors by making a fizzling rainbow, painting with colored ice, making water walk, and coloring flowers.

Class experience

By the end of this 3-day camp, they will have learned the colors of the rainbow in order by mixing colors and enjoying fun experiments.
They will know what are the primary and secondary colors.
I have taught over 200 online classes with these science experiments. They are so much fun!

A detailed list will be provided in the classroom but here are some supplies you will need to gather. - vinegar (1 cup) - baking soda (1-2 cups) - food coloring (red, blue, yellow) - use the water-based ones to get a true red, the corn syrup ones come out purplish - white flowers (roses, carnations, lilies, whatever you can find - if you can't find flowers, we can improvise) - 6 clear cups - paper towels - tray to contain messes - paintbrush - thick paper (cardstock/ index cards, etc) - washcloth/old clothes for the messes Day 1: WALKING WATER/ COLORED CARNATIONS (or any white flower) - paper towels - 6 clear cups - food coloring - white flowers (roses, carnations, lilies, whatever you can find - if you can't find flowers, we can improvise) - flower vases Day 2: MAKING A FIZZLING RAINBOW - white vinegar (about 1 cup) - baking soda (1-2 cups) - food coloring (red, blue, yellow) - use the water-based ones to get a true red, the corn syrup ones come out purplish - eyedropper, medicine syringe, or spoon - 6 small containers or bowls - baking sheet (optional - lined with foil) - washcloth for messes Day 3: PAINTING WITH COLORED ICE CUBES - ice cube tray with frozen red, blue, yellow cubes (4 cubes of each color, 2-3 drops of color for each cube) - 6 small bowls or cups (or a cupcake tin works great too!) - paintbrush - watercolor paper or cardstock paper (thick 3x5 cards work well too) - tray for under the paper - washcloth for messy hands
A parent nearby is recommended, but most of these experiments the child can do on their own. A parent may need to help with pouring and cleanup.

Profile
I love looking around me and asking questions. "What if....?" Science is full of "what if" questions. Come explore simple science experiments with me. Most of the items can be found around your home or easily found at the store. I also have a love...
