Beginner Level
This private lesson will meet up to four times a week. Each week, we will focus on a different math or phonics concept with fun, competitive games. In math, we will start with the basics (number bonds to make 10, doubling, greater than/less than, money, addition, subtraction, etc). In phonics, we will start with the letter sounds and then use them to make words. We will also take turns reading stories and talking about what we read. Reading comprehension is important. If your learner is struggling with a certain concept at school, I can try to find a game that corresponds to that unit. In addition to learning math and letters, they will learn to demonstrate good sportsmanship no matter who wins that week. My one rule is "No Crying" which is hard to do if you are not on the winning team, but such an important skill. A few days before class a printout or supply list will be provided. See the supply list for the basic items you will need. They are usually items found in your home or easy to get (such as dice, playing cards, coins, etc). If you do not have a supply, come anyway. You can use my cards or dice as we play on the big screen.
