In this 5 lesson course we will learn about abstract photography! I will be demonstrating the projects and in a series of videos & slideshows. Lesson 1: Students will explore abstract Light & Shadow. How can you create an image just using light and shadow as the subject? Lesson 2: Students will examine the effect of refraction! Using a simple glass of water and a patterned image students will create an interesting image using the effect. Lesson 3: Students will start to examine nontraditional materials. This lesson we will use oil, food coloring& water to create an image! Lesson 4: We will continue using nontraditional materials. This lesson we will use milk, soap & food coloring to create an image! Students should have prior knowledge of how to operate the camera they are using. Tips and tricks will be given but this course will not focus on camera operation.

1. Device to take photographs with-can use a cell phone or DSLR camera. 2. Vegetable or olive oil 3. Liquid food coloring 4. A cup of milk 5. Tablespoon of dish soap 6. Clear drinking glass

I have taught a variety of courses over my career such as: Fine Arts 1 & 2, Introduction to Photography, Pottery 1 & 2, Introduction to Jewelry, Introduction to Crafts, Introduction to Sculpture, Design 1 & 2.
I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again! Creating art is a method of communication with the world!
When I'm not creating art, I love cooking, reading, spending time with friends & family!
