In this 4 lesson course we will learn about nature photography! I will be demonstrating the projects and in a series of videos & slideshows . Lesson 1: Students will explore the Element of Art: Texture in their photographs. Students will go on a Texture Photography Scavenger Hunt! How many different textures in your landscapes can you find? Lesson 2: Students will examine the effect of light on an image. We will look at direct harsh light, indirect diffused light and how the light changes during the day. Lesson 3: Students will examine the Element of Design: Space this week. We will create outdoor images with short & wide depth of field. Lesson Four: Students will examine how color can influence their images. We will discuss warm/cool colors and complementary colors. Students should have prior knowledge of how to operate the camera they are using. Tips and tricks will be given but this course will not focus on camera operation.

In this lesson students will look at how different types of light can produce different moods in images.
Lesson 3:

In this lesson students explore close and far depth of field in their images.
Lesson 4:
Exploring Color
In this lesson students will explore the impact of color and color harmonies in their images.

I have taught high school art for 18 years! Last year I had the opportunity to teach middle school students remotely and loved it! I have taught a variety of courses over my career such as: Fine Arts 1 & 2, Introduction to Photography, Pottery 1 & 2, Introduction to Jewelry, Introduction to Crafts, Introduction to Sculpture, Design 1 & 2.
I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again! Creating art is a method of communication with the world!
When I'm not creating art, I love cooking, reading, spending time with friends & family!
