Explore Alaska geography, themes of survival, culture, and the relationships between humans and the environment through literature. Join this interdisciplinary, active class where we go beyond the book, reading, responding, reflecting, and reaching to the deep and critical thinking. Learning Goals
Writing, speaking, critical thinking on literature around related themes of literature focused on Alaska.Identify aspects of a text that reveal an author's point of view, stance, or purpose (e.g. rhetorical language, inclusion or avoidance of particular facts, images, visuals, etc.). Independent reading, interest in connected content, deep context thinking and a focus on extension activities beyond reading the book
Supply List
Each participant must have their own copy of the book we are discussing. Projects and responses must be original in nature.
