US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
This is a seven week course for young learners who know their letters and sounds and are ready to begin learning to read. This course covers all the basic short vowel word families. By the end of this course, learners will be able to read simple sentences and stories focusing on CVC words. My teaching style is simple yet highly interactive, using tools such as songs, flashcards, books, games, and occasionally, slides and videos. Other Details
Pre-Requisites
Learners will need to already know the alphabet, both letter names and sounds. If your learner does not yet know the alphabet or letter sounds fluently, or could benefit from review, consider enrolling in my letters and sounds course.
Supply List
Students may need a pencil during class time. Any additional supplies will be posted in the classroom at least two days in advance. Access to a printer is recommended.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

We will use Progressive Phonics as well as resources from Teachers Pay Teachers or teacher-created curriculum.

I have since then continued to teach and tutor privately, both in person and online. I have also taught in private schools where I have worked with teaching students to read.
