Reading Adventures Part 3 (Beginner Reading CVC Words With the Short "U" Sound")

In this class, children wil learn to blend the short "u" vowel sound to create CVC(constant-vowel-constant) words.  Each week we will focus on a different blended sound.  I will use a variety of games, reading, writng, and drawing activities to give learners as much exposure and repetition to the sounds and words as possible. We will also learn a few simple sight words so we can read short sentences using our new blended words vocabulary.

Before each class, I will provide an activity sheet, on the classroom page, that you can print out for us to work through together during each class.  

Here are the 7 weeks of sounds:
Week 1 (April 7th-13th):   "-ug"
Week 2 (April 14th-20th):  "-un"
Week 3 (April 21st -27th):  "-up"
Week 4 (April 28th- May 11th) :  "- ud"
Week 5 (May 12th - 18th):  "-ut"
Week 6 (May 19th - 25th):  "-ub"
Week 7 (May 26th - June 1st):  "-um"

I will post in the classroom, before each upcoming class, the sound we will be focusing on and the activity sheet for that week.
