This is a fun, interactive 5 week course all about our incredible human bodies. Please see the class syllabus for details. If your child is curious about their very own human body; this class can help. Students are able to learn and discover the unique qualities of five of our human body systems and make fun crafts that coordinate with the lessons. Let's have fun exploring our incredible human bodies!

over 5 WeeksUnit 1: The Skeletal System
Lesson 1:
The Human Skeletal System
Our bones give us support and shape.
They work together with our muscles so that we can move. Students will:
* learn the basics about the human skeletal system via a recorded teacher presented slideshow and an interactive Nearpod lesson containing a 3D skeletal system that students can manipulate and explore.
* take a fun, game-like quiz to test knowledge.
* engage their fine motor skills with a skeletal system craft.
Unit 2: The Muscular System
Lesson 2:
The Muscular System
We have different types of muscles and each has a special job to do. Students will learn about the human muscular system via teacher presented slideshow and interactive Nearpod lesson. Students will engage their fine motor skills by completing a muscular system craft.
Lesson 3:
The Circulatory System
Your heart is a muscle. We have veins and arteries and our blood carries nutrients and oxygen throughout our bodies. Students will learn about the human circulatory system via teacher presented slideshow and an interactive Nearpod lesson. Students will engage their fine motor skills by completing a circulatory system craft.
Lesson 4:
The Digestive System
What happens to that food we eat? Students will learn about the human digestive system via slideshow presentation by the teacher and an interactive Nearpod lesson. Students will engage their fine motor skills by creating a digestive system craft.

Week One: 1. Eight Q-tips 2. Two pieces of Black construction paper 3. white chalk 4. Glue 5. Printable from classroom 6. Scissors Week Two: 1. Printables from Classroom (This is the same printable from last week; we are using it again.) 2. Red or pink play-dough 3. Eight Q-tips 4. glue 5. One piece of construction paper black or any color 6. Scissors Week Three: 1. Black paper 2. White chalk 3. Seven Q-tips 4. Two red pipe cleaners 5. Two blue pipe cleaners 6. Glue 7. Scissors Week Four: 1. One sheet of Black construction paper or any dark color 2. printable from classroom 3. Twelve inch piece of red or orange yarn 4. Twelve inch piece of yellow yarn (note* we need 2 different colored pieces of yarn cut into 12 inch pieces...any two colors will work) 5. pink play-dough 6. blue straw (or any colored straw) or blue play-dough 7. glue 8. scissors Week Five: 1.
