High School Anatomy (22 Weeks)
This twenty-two-week intense college prep course covers Human Anatomy in detail. This course is for homeschooled students seeking a health career or even just to get the required science credit that some colleges prefer for other degrees. This course fulfills the Advanced Biology course on a high school transcript. It is also great for students who really enjoy studying the human body.

All the systems of the human body will be taught in detail. Most students take this course after they have completed Biology and Chemistry. Most students are juniors or seniors in high school. The reason the prerequisites are important is that they will help the student to understand the physiology of each system better. For example, the symbols PO4, Ca, and NO3 may be mentioned. If the student doesn't know any Chemistry, this may be unclear to them. However, there are exceptions to any...

This class is taught in English.
- This course will help students better understand the anatomy and physiology of all body systems and how they work together.
I have thirty-five years of teaching experience at the high school level. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Art. Plus, I am a lifetime certified, a secondary teacher who still continues to learn online. In recent years, I've taken several online courses to stay current on what is being taught now. Homework
Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: Students will have reading assignments, videos, coloring sheets, and handouts to complete each week. Homework shouldn't last more than 2-3 hours a week.Assessment
Frequency: includedDetails: Students must submit all homework for an assessment grade. There will be oral quizzes and group discussions, too. There are NO academic exams. I can reference exams upon request but they are optional. There is an end-of-the-course presentation that students must do to complete the course.
When taking this course, students should have already taken Biology and Chemistry. This course is an advanced biology course that focuses on the human body. A student needs to be self-motivated and able to stay on task.
I will give the students a heads up as to when they will need the supplies for a lab. These labs may or may not be done in class time. However, the lab must be done to fill the requirement for the course. These are short and safe labs for students to better understand the physiology of the body. Computer printer and paper to print handouts Color pencils or markers Scotch tape Scissors Gluestick flexible measuring tape hand-held weights or heavy book large paper clips ruler 16 pk of crayons drinking plastic straws 2-9 in balloons crackers of any kind orange juice paper cups tray water 2 bowls magnifying glass milk of magnesia sprite baking soda milk
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be exposed to various preserved specimens (sheep's eye, heart and rabbit lung, etc. ) and medical terminology that the endocrine and reproductive system will cover. Students will also be viewing videos on Youtube to better understand various bodily functions an anatomical parts. CK-12 will be the class reference text used for reading assignments and answering worksheets.
We will use the Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology Text online. We will use YouTube to explain various bodily functions.
