What is an organ? Do organs have jobs to do? Each lesson explores a different human body organ. We have fun learning the functions, location and facts about 5 different organs found in our very own human bodies. These organs are: the brain, the kidneys, the liver, the stomach and the skin. Each lesson incorporates a fun craft that aids in motor skill development and creativity. Students will learn about 5 major human body organs via a teacher led presentation, interactive lessons and fun quizzes accessed through a teacher designed Nearpod lesson. Each lesson will explore a different body organ in a fun, easy to understand way.

The Brain and What is an Organ
What is an organ?
Without our brain, we couldn't do anything.
What does our brain look like, how much does it weigh and how big is it?
In this class we briefly mention the nervous system while focusing more on what the brain controls in a general, easy to understand way. Students will learn about the brain through a teacher presented slideshow, interactive lesson and a fun quiz. Students will complete a step by step teacher led brain craft. These are all incorporated into a Nearpod lesson.
Lesson 2:
The Kidneys
Kidneys clean our blood and remove waste from our bodies. Just like other parts of our body, they work in a team. Students will learn about the human kidneys via teacher presented slideshow an interactive lesson and a fun quiz. Students will engage their fine motor skills by completing a kidney craft. These are all incorporated into a Nearpod lesson.
Lesson 3:
The Liver
Your liver has three main jobs.
Where is the liver located?
What does the liver look like and how big is it?
Students will learn about the liver via teacher presented slideshow an interactive lesson and fun quiz. Students will engage their fine motor skills by completing a liver organ craft. These are all incorporated into a Nearpod lesson.
Lesson 4:
The Stomach
Students will learn the main functions of the stomach.
What does the stomach look like, how does it help us digest food?
Students will learn about the stomach via slideshow presentation by the teacher an interactive lesson and a fun quiz. Students will engage their fine motor skills by creating a stomach craft. These are all incorporated into a Nearpod lesson.

Parental Guidance
Students will be using scissors and other craft supplies. They may need adult assistance.
