Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This is a 4 week live, interactive class. 
Each class contains an after lesson craft. The teacher will demonstrate each craft step by step so students can follow along. Students are encouraged to "change it up" to add their own special touches to their artwork. 
Each class will be followed by fun After Class Activities that will be posted to the classroom for more learning on your own. These activities include a really fun, interactive Nearpod lesson with virtual field trips, Draw It boards, memory matching and more! There will also be After Class Fun Printable Activity Sheets posted to the classroom. 

The class schedule is as follows:

Week One: Crab
*What is a decapod?
*How do they use their legs?
*What do they eat; are they omnivores?
*Much more!
Students will learn about crabs via video and slideshow presented by the teacher, class discussion and a really fun, After Class interactive Nearpod lesson.
A crab craft will be demonstrated by the teacher and children can follow along step by step.
There will be after class printable coloring pages and activities to go along with the lesson for extra learning and comprehension.

Week Two: Jellyfish
*Do they have eyes, a brain, or hearts?
*How do they eat?
*What do they eat; are they carnivores?
*Much more!
Students will learn about jellyfish via video and slideshow presented by the teacher, class discussion and a really fun, interactive After Class Nearpod lesson.
A craft will also be demonstrated by the teacher and children can follow along step by step
There will be After Class printable coloring pages and activities to go along with the lesson for extra learning and comprehension. 

Week Three: Octopus
*Are they smart?
*How do they squeeze into small spaces?
*What are suckers and how do they use them?
*Much more!
Students will learn about the octopus via video and slideshow presented by the teacher and a really fun, After Class interactive Nearpod lesson.
A craft will also be demonstrated by the teacher and children can follow along step by step.
There will be PDF printable coloring pages and activities to go along with the lesson for extra After Class learning and comprehension.

 Week Four: Seahorse
*How do they swim; are they fast or slow?
*Why are their tails so special?
*What is so unique about seahorse eggs?
*Much more!
Students will learn about the seahorse via video and slideshow presented by the teacher and a really fun, After Class interactive Nearpod lesson.
A craft will also be demonstrated by the teacher and children can follow along step by step.
There will be PDF printable coloring pages and activities to go along with the lesson for extra After Class learning and comprehension.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their understanding of some ocean creatures and create a craft each week. The crafts help improve fine motor skills.

Supply List
Teacher may provide extra activities in the classroom for fun. All links to external resources will be provided in the classroom. Students will not need to create separate accounts.
Craft Supplies

Week One:
1. One large paper plate cut in half
2. Printable from classroom (students should color in claws and eyes and cut them out before class if possible) 
3. red paint
4. red crayon 
5. paintbrush
6. glue
7. scissors
8. Four regular sized (not the really fat, thick ones) pipe cleaners cut in half (red, brown or black if possible otherwise any color you have)
9. Hole punch or pointy pen to poke holes in paper plate.

Week Two:
1. Paper bowl any size
2. Streamers or long pieces of ribbon at least 24 inches (at least 8) or you can use colored tissue paper cut into long strips 
3. Paint 
4. Paint brushes
5. Glue
6. Scissors

Week Three:
1. One large paper plate
2. Printables from classroom
3, (64) Cheerios or O shaped cereal, buttons or legumes
4. purple paint
5. purple crayon
6. paintbrush
7. Scissors
8. Glue

Week Four:
1. Classroom printable
2. Three pieces of colored tissue paper
3. About (4) O shaped cereal or Cheerios or buttons
4. One large piece of colored paper to glue printable on
