1-2 hours per week. This is a flexible schedule class with no live meetings, so the students will be completing their work in whatever schedule works for them.Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 5
Let's enter the wonderful world of insects! In this 4-week flex course, students will discover a multitude of interesting insects while learning about the biology and life cycle of insects! Each week, students will be taught all about what classifies an insect, insect biology, and life cycle of insects, then they will be introduced to 5 interesting insects (and facts about them). I will be utilizing Edpuzzle to make each video (taught by me) interactive with questions popping up through the video (I have a non interactive video alternative upon request). The presentation is full of information and clear, interesting pictures. There will be postings during the week with discussions and activities that the students can respond to throughout the week at their convenience. Each week, there will be a Quizlet game posted in the classroom that students will have the option of completing to remember facts and vocabulary that they are learning in each class. Students will have the option of completing a project where they research their own insect and share their research to the class or to the teacher. They students will be able to be creative in the way that they would like to create their project, whether it be a poster, a flyer, PowerPoint, video, etc. I do consider this project to be optional and up to the parents to decide if it is right for the student's current schedule. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
