Insects Advance R1: Research & Discuss Different Insects! (Age 13-18)

This class is Part 1 of the Intermediate Insect Research Series. However, learners can take each part at any time as each class does not build on each other.

Each week, we will research and discuss a different insect following the schedule below.  

Advance Insect Research Part 1:
Week of October 15  - 1: Gum-leaf skeletoniser 
Week of November 19 -2: Peanut-headed Lanternfly
Week of December 10 - 3: Brazilian Treehopper
Week of January 27 - 4: Pale tussock
5: Pipevine swallowtail 
6: Brown marmorated stink bug
7: Common walking stick
8: Thorn bug
9: Common water strider 
10: Tarantula hawk
11: Giant desert centipede
12: Eastern Hercules beetle

The class will primarily be structured as a discussion guided by the in class research/information that learners find. 

After research the 12 insects, learners can download the Google Document used in class to put together a mini encyclopedia of the insects covered in class (optional).
