Uganda is a bird lovers paradise due to being home to over 1,000 different species of interesting birds! This interactive FLEX class will cover some of the most interesting and unique bird species of Uganda. This is a highly interactive flexible schedule class. There will be a lesson video posted each week (Mondays) which can be watched whenever is convenient for the student. These video lessons will have a minimum of 8 birds in each lesson (total of 32 birds, over a period of 4 weeks)....
Students will be able to... -define a bird -know a variety of terms such as, endangered, extinct, camouflage, conservation, etc. -know how to do their own research about birds. -know about many birds in Uganda. -identify Uganda on a map.
I will be bringing experience from being a certified teacher and a science curriculum builder. I also have a big passion for nature and animals and have been studying this field for many years.
This is an interactive flexible schedule class, so they will have discussions, a project to complete, videos to watch, and Quizlet games.
They will be creating their own project about a bird in Uganda, but the way they want to go about this will be flexible with what materials that they want to use. They could create it totally online with a PowerPoint or they could create a poster, drawing, etc.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
