Welcome to “Mammals of China!” Has your student heard of a Baiji, Jerboa, or Red Panda? No?!! Then you are in the right place! Get ready for a deep dive into China’s most interesting mammals. We will cover the unique and strange mammals along with China’s most popular mammals. To begin, we will review what classifies a mammal and geographical information about China to make sure all students have a solid foundation. Then, there will be a picture walk activity to see how diverse China's landscape is. We will be reviewing six amazing animals that can be found in China. The animals that will be introduced are: Red Panda, Jerboa, Giant Panda, Baiji, Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, and Siberian Tiger. We will discuss fun facts, habitats, endangered vs. functionally extinct, food, and other fun facts! There will be time for student discussion, reactions, and questions. I will be assessing each student’s learning progress throughout the class by discussion, questioning, and activity progress. Class will be structured, but flexible to adjust to each student’s needs. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or requests. This class is an overview/introductory class to allow your student to be introduced to the wildlife of China. My hope is that your student will walk away ready to do their own research and see how many more interesting animals that they can find.

Students will be able to recognize and identify a variety of mammals native to China.

Welcome! My name is Kristin, and I am so excited to meet your learner(s)! I am a certified teacher with a B.S. Ed. in Early Childhood Education and in Special Education. I have many years of both classroom teaching and online teaching experience. Outside of Outschool, I am a business owner and I was a horse riding instructor. As a teacher, I have taught all classroom subjects, therefore, I have a variety of class options. My focus is on literature, life skills, nature, history, and geography. Beyond teaching, some of my personal passions include horseback riding (English and Western styles), reading, playing guitar, dancing, training dogs, learning new languages, and traveling.
