Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
This is a interactive flexible schedule class where students will be able to learn about interesting mammals all around the world. There will be two lesson videos posted each week which can be watched whenever is convenient for the student. These video lessons will have 10 mammals in each lesson (20 mammals per week, 80 mammals total). Seven of the eight video lessons will each be assigned a continent, from which we will learn about mammals that reside there (integrating continent geography into the lesson). During the videos there will be fun pop up questions to keep the video interactive and allow the students to be engaged in learning. The students will not only learn about the mammals themselves, but they will also learn about subjects such as endangered, extinct, vulnerable, habitat loss, conservation, climate, camouflage, etc. On our classroom page, there will be a flow of discussion questions that the students will be able to participate in. There will be also fun Quizlet activities that will allow each student to continue to practice their new knowledge. During these four weeks, the students will be working on their own project (optional). They will be able to choose a mammal in the world that they would like to do research on and create a research project (optional). I will be actively engaging with the students throughout the four weeks.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or requests.

Hello and welcome!
I'm Kristin, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to meet your learner(s)! I am a certified teacher with a B.S. Ed. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. With years of experience teaching both in the classroom and online, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my teaching.

In addition to teaching, I'm a business owner and have a background as a horseback riding instructor, which adds a unique perspective to my approach. My teaching philosophy centers around not just imparting knowledge, but inspiring a love of learning. I believe that when learners develop a genuine curiosity, they are motivated to grow, succeed, and eventually inspire others.

I create a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and supportive of all learners, regardless of their abilities. I'm experienced in tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and learning preferences, ensuring that every student feels confident and engaged. My teaching covers a broad range of subjects, with a particular focus on literature, life skills, nature, history, and geography.

Outside of the classroom, I have a variety of personal passions: horseback riding (both English and Western styles), reading, playing guitar, dancing, dog training, learning new languages, and exploring the world through travel. I love incorporating students' passions into their learning journey and am always open to hearing feedback, ideas, and preferences to make the learning experience even more meaningful.

What is your learner’s passion? I can’t wait to help them discover new interests and grow in their education. I look forward to meeting your learner(s) soon!
