Are you ready for long division? This class is focused on the multi-digit division strategy, the Partial Quotients Method of Division! While similar to the traditional algorithm approach, this method is rooted in number sense. This one-time class is perfect for a wide range of learners, from those who want to learn a new way to divide to those who have been introduced to the method and want more practice. We will practice dividing 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. This math strategy will be taught live and modeled by the teacher. Throughout there will be opportunities for guided practice then independent practice and of course time to interact with the teacher and peers. Questions and discussion are welcome! Additional math concepts that will be incorporated include place value, multiplication, divisor/dividend/quotient vocabulary, fact fluency, and adding multi-digit numbers. Please sign up for this class now to review the Partial Quotients Method of Division and have some fun with math! *Note: Students should have an understanding of adding 3-digit numbers, multi-digit multiplication, and know their division facts up to 100/10 prior to this class.

Welcome learners and families!
I love teaching elementary math and science, which I have over 10 years of experience doing. I enjoy challenging myself to break down harder-to-understand math concepts into ways that students find relatable and engaging.
Professionally, I have been a public school teacher for over 8 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech. I have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, from George Mason University. I also hold a valid Elementary Education professional teaching license in Virginia.
