Beginner - Advanced Level
We will cover long division using Texas standards. I will present different strategies for the algorithm then go into solving word problems and practice for the students. First, we will begin by practicing the algorithm. I will provide an example and work through each step by modeling the different steps. Then gradually, we will introduce division with word problems. Finally, I will provide mixed practice for students to practice just the skill of division along with additional practice by using word problems.

Students should be comfortable with basic multiplication facts.

I have taught 4th grade math in Texas and will be using the standards to help guide mastery in the concept. I have experience taking students through the gradual release process where I model first, then students work with me to practice problem and essentially they walk me through the process and finally I release and allow students to practice independently and can still offer assistance if needed.Reviews
