Math U See is a complete, comprehensive K-12 math curriculum that uses manipulatives to illustrate and teach math concepts. Using a multi-sensory, mastery-based approach, students of all learning styles can benefit from this program. The Delta level focuses on Single and Double-digit Division as well as many other topics including: reading and writing Roman numerals, currency, standard units of measure, basic geometry, and computing area and volume. Classes will meet twice weekly. On Day One, the week's Lesson will be presented and we will complete the Section A practice problems together during class. Sections B, C and D will be completed for homework. Students may submit homework to be graded by teacher, if parents choose. On Day Two, we will complete Section E together, review concepts, and do supplementary activities like Kahoot!, time permitting. During each class, I will use digital manipulatives, real-life examples, and the whiteboard to help students visualize concepts in the lessons. Students are highly encouraged to participate, ask questions, and answer questions in class to ensure they have a good understanding of each concept. I strive to create a classroom atmosphere that is warm and encouraging so all students can succeed at their own pace. *For parents who desire a grade, homework and tests can be submitted to me and I will grade them on a weekly basis. As time permits we may use the free Kahoot! app to practice math facts at the end of classes. The app should be downloaded on a separate device such as a phone or tablet before class. A free account may be set up in the student's name but is not necessary since the teacher will host the game and use screen share for students to participate. They will only use their device to submit answers.
