Get ready for high school Algebra with this comprehensive Pre-Algebra course from Math U See! The goal of this program is for students to be able to apply math to everyday situations. Now that students have learned basic math operations we want them to learn the underlying concepts of math that are critical to successful problem-solving. Using a multi-sensory, mastery-based approach, students of all learning styles can benefit from this program. Classes will meet twice weekly in a small-group tutoring class. On Day One, the week's Lesson will be presented and we will complete the Sections A and B practice problems together during class. Sections C and D will be completed for homework. On Day Two, we will review homework, complete Sections E and F together, and review concepts as needed. During each class, I may use digital manipulatives, real-life examples, and the whiteboard to help students visualize concepts in the lessons. Students are highly encouraged to participate, ask questions, and answer questions in class to ensure they have a good understanding of each concept. I strive to create a classroom atmosphere that is warm and encouraging so all students can succeed at their own pace.
