Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 7
In this class students will learn about the time period that the Titanic was built, how the Titanic was made, what it looked like inside, who was on the Titanic, and how it sank. In each class we will use video, powerpoint and questions and answers to learn more about the Titanic.
Class 1: How and where was the Titanic built? How big was it? What would you bring with you onboard?
Class 2: What was it like onboard? Who was on the Titanic? How did it sink? Who survived?
My teaching style is encouranging and upbeat. Learners will interact with each other and the teacher through questions, answers and discussion. No prior experience is needed. No outside resources are needed.

Parental Guidance
The Titanic ended in tragedy for many. I will attempt to place the emphasis more on those who survived, but there are definitely very sad aspects of this story.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach Reading, Grammar, History and have: taught full-time, and worked as a substitute teaching many different subjects in classes from Kinder to 12th grade. My majors in college ranged from Child Development, to Theater Arts, to English, and an additional History minor. In addition to teaching I am a published author. My philosophy of teaching is that we are all life-long learners and we never stop learning. To that end, every lesson should fun and enjoyable, while teaching, and/or learning, something new. The students should have fun while they learn, as that's the way we learn the most.
