Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
In this class we will learn about the singers and musicians that atrted Rock and Roll, and also look at the times they lived in. We will watch a video about the person's life, talk about the times they lived in, then listen to some of their songs, and discuss. We will also play trivia and other games. This is ongoing, so each week will not build upon each other, and we will keep going, studying more musicians and songs, as long as there is interest.

Just ask if you have any questions about what artists we are featuring that week. I am always up for requests, and will try to fit them in. Thanks!

My teaching style is positive and upbeat. Learners will interact through discussion, questions, answers, and trivia games. There is no experience needed.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach Reading, Grammar, History and have: taught full-time, and worked as a substitute teaching many different subjects in classes from Kinder to 12th grade. My majors in college ranged from Child Development, to Theater Arts, to English, and an additional History minor. In addition to teaching I am a published author. My philosophy of teaching is that we are all life-long learners and we never stop learning. To that end, every lesson should fun and enjoyable, while teaching, and/or learning, something new. The students should have fun while they learn, as that's the way we learn the most.
