US Grade 3 - 6
In this class students will write paragraphs based on Star Wars subjects. We will cover writing a paragraph. First we will start with a basic outline for a sucessful paragraph, then I will give them a prompt, such as "My Favorite Star Wars movie is..." or "If Darth Vader were after my crew, we would escape by..." There will be a form to follow for those that need help step by step, and students that are further along will have opportunities to expand their writing. My style is positive, patient and upbeat. Learners will interact as they share what they have written if they would like, and I always include a lot of questions and answers. In the later part of class, and as they are comfortable sharing, I will help each student with what they have wrote. We will also play a Star Wars Mad Libs game to help re-enforce parts of speech and for fun! Each session will not build upon the previous one. Only paper and something to write with are needed. Here is what our schedule will look like: Week of June 6: Topic, Which Star Wars movie is your favorite and why? Star Wars Mad LIbs Week of June 13 : Topic, Is Darth Vader a good guy or a bad guy and why? Star Wars Mad LIbs Week of June 20: Topic, Who is your favorite Star Wars character and why?
