Class Experience

I have been baking for so long! I have made everything from cookies and cupcakes all the way to soufflés and apple tarts tatin. I love watching baking competitions and I’ve always wanted to be in one.

Monday 3/4 cup sugar 2 tablespoons water 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups milk, hot 3 eggs, lightly beaten Tuesday 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups cold butter, cubed 2/3 cup cold water 1/2 cup granulated sugar Wednesday 5 1/2 cups icing sugar (powdered sugar) 1 cup & 1 tsp butter 3 tsp vanilla extract a few tbsp of milk about a cup of raspberry jam 1/4 cup chocolate chips *leftover puff pastry from Tuesday's class Thursday 2 tablespoon(s) unsalted butter, softened 10 tablespoon(s) granulated sugar, divided 4 large egg yolks, at room temperature 1/4 cup(s) all-purpose flour 1 1/4 cup(s) milk 2 teaspoon(s) grated lemon zest 1/4 cup(s) fresh lemon juice 3 tablespoon(s) confectioners' sugar, plus extra for dusting 5 large egg whites, at room temperature 1/2 teaspoon(s) cream of tartar Tools stove oven microwave pot spoon (to stir) 6 ramekins hand mixers or whisk large baking dish (at least 2 inch high walls, it needs to hold water in it) food processor (this is a MUST, a blender will not work!) plastic wrap 2 baking/cookie sheets parchment paper knife (doesn't need to be super sharp) spatula rolling pin fork Ziploc bag toothpick microwave-safe mug/bowl
5 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The use of an oven and stove will be required. Please be nearby for assistance if you don't feel comfortable with your child doing it themselves.
