Class Experience

Students will learn songs, scales and exercises in C Major, G Major and F Major. They will learn how to play easy pieces using quarter notes, half notes, whole notes and eighth notes. Most songs are folk songs or traditional pieces. I also enjoy using extra exercises like rhythm games and note drills.
Students are taught in a class where they play individually for me or put themselves on mute and play together as a group with me. Students are free to ask questions and encouraged to do so. Students are encouraged to practice in between class and each class will begin with a review of last week's pieces. I also encourage students to play for each other and for their family and friends. This is a beginning class and students do not need to have any prior experience. Since these are younger students, I would strongly advise parents to rent or buy a curved head joint flute or a beginning flute sold by Kathryn Blocki of the Blocki Flute Method. More details about this will be covered in what is required for this class (flute, book, stand).
