March; Prelude in A Minor; Down in the Valley Week 6: D Minor Scale; On Top of Old Smokey; p. 17 - The Minstrel’s Song Week 7: Triads and Inversions - root, 1st and 2nd inversion; Reveille, Royal Procession Week 8: Triplet Rhythm; p. 23: March of the Triplets Week 9: p. 24 - Spanish Serenade; p. 26 - Field Day (broken chord bass); p. 27: Gypsy Dance This class is structured as a 30 minute lesson. Students will review music in their books: Piano, Performance, Technic and Theory for me at the beginning of class and then we will learn new music for the remainder of the class. My teaching style is relaxed and encouraging. I believe that anyone can learn to play piano! Students will also participate in music games or flash card drills. Students should have gone through Bastien Level 2 books before going to this series. Students should be familiar with finger position in C, Middle C, Low G and High G and major scale patterns listed in Level 2. Students will be learning minor scales at this level to add to their knowledge of major scales.
