US Grade 3 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
In these one on one flute lessons, students will learn a variety of topics based on their skills and interests such as note reading, music theory, scales, care and cleaning of the instrument, tone quality, sight reading, music composition and more! The lessons include warm ups, technical studies, performance songs and games. I use a student centered teaching approach that focuses on the students interests and passions to inspire them towards excellence.

Students will be able to explain and execute music theory skills appropriate to their skill level.
Students will be able to play with appropriate technique and sound quality.

Students will need to have their own flute and purchase their method book for lessons.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

In our lessons, you can expect to learn the basics of the flute using a variety of music such as the Standard of Excellence method book (beginning level), the Rubank method (intermediate/advanced level), scales, and solo material.

I am an experienced teacher of 7 years specializing in teaching beginning/intermediate flute students! In college I studied with Gary Woodward (Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Orange County Pacific Symphony). I have a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Biola University and a California teaching credential.
